The Plantation chair, also known as the Kursi Gobang, is a reclining chair with double arms.One element can swing out to receive the outstretched legs of the reclining person. Kursi is Persian for chair and Gobang was the name for the coin that was traditionally  used to fasten the leg of the chair to the arms. These chairs became very popular in the second half of the 19th century.
